My Thoughts

Wow, Walters really knows how to write suspense. From the beginning of the story, she had me hooked. The stakes are high from the get-go, and I was pulled into the action.

But I think what had me spellbound the most were the characters. Walters creates a team that not only works cases together but cares about one another like a large family. And as Brynn got pulled into this makeshift family, so did I.

The romance itself is sweet. I loved seeing Jack and Brynn begin to open up to each other again after all the pain in their past. And the issues that ended their relationship before provided a great background to explore issues of faith. Especially when it came to Brynn’s need for control. I loved the discussion and inner monologues about trusting God amidst the chaos of this world.

Overall, Lights Out is a romantic suspense perfect for fans of fast-paced action and second chance romance.
