My Thoughts
I’ve enjoyed this whole series. They’ve been books that I’ve devoured and stayed up way too late reading. But Counterfeit Faith may be my favorite.
For one, the characters are fleshed out so well that they felt like real people. Josiah offered plenty of humor in Counterfeit Hope, and we got a nice glimpse underneath the surface that I couldn’t wait to see fleshed out. And Caudill did a great job showing us more of who Josiah Isaacs really is. He serves as a great reminder that people are not always as they seem. And Josiah is more of a gentleman than anyone gives him credit for. Gwendolyn, like Caudill’s other heroines, is a strong type we can all root for. But she has a soft center that I love. And seeing Josiah fall in love with that soft center was so sweet.
I love how Caudill tackles a tough conversation about faith as Josiah struggles with his relationship with God. She gives you a lot to think about.
Overall, Counterfeit Faith is a sweet historical romantic suspense you don’t want to miss.
